The popular mobile game Pokemon Masters is about get a new sync pair update later this month, this time with a familiar face prominently appearing in the entire history of the iconic video game franchise: Professor Oak.
The mobile game has released a teaser trailer taking place in an old study filled with research materials regarding Pokemon. The video concludes with Oak seen putting on his familiar white lab coat as he steps into the outside world as the next Pokemon Trainer to sync with player characters.

Normally relegated to his lab receiving updates from players on Pokemon encountered and documented through the voluminous Pokedex, Pokemon Masters marks a rare occasion of Oak himself stepping into Pokemon combat himself. It is currently unknown which Pokemon will be the Professor's companion of choice. The upcoming update will be free and available for download on Feb. 14.
Released this past August, Pokemon Masters allows players to battle against other trainers while syncing up with Pokemon Trainers from previous installments in the fan-favorite Nintendo franchise.

Developed by DeNA, Pokemon Masters is available for Android and iOS devices. The latest update will be released on Feb. 14.
